If you follow me on Strava or Instagram, you might have noticed that I haven’t been doing a ton of running lately. I had the Bayshore Marathon a month ago, and then the Ultimate Direction Golden Gate Dirty 30 the following week (my first ultra! — here’s what I ate and wore). Since then, I’ve been in recovery/rest mode and adjusting to the heat of the summer. And eating Hello Fresh. But I have some news!
What: TCTC Bayshore Marathon 2017
When: Saturday of Memorial Day weekend
Where: Traverse City, Michigan — Cherry Capital and Caribbean of the Midwest. If you make a mitt with your left hand, this race is at the inside top of your pinky.
Weather: Sunny, 60-70 degrees. Felt pretty warm in the final miles of the race. Luckily most of the race is at least partially shaded, so no sunburn for me.
Each December, I like to sit down and write out my goals for the coming year. Last year I set several goals, outlined here. I hit many of them, including my goal to run four marathons in 2016 (I did six), go camping (check!), hike and run trails (I did that a bunch), read Move Your DNA (done), and run a marathon under 3:45 (woohoo!). A few others, not so much.
But I have only one goal for 2017: B. Q.
