Big News! Also, A Week and a Half Until Mt. Hood 50K

img_2212If you follow me on Strava or Instagram, you might have noticed that I haven’t been doing a ton of running lately.  I had the Bayshore Marathon a month ago, and then the Ultimate Direction Golden Gate Dirty 30 the following week (my first ultra! — here’s what I ate and wore).  Since then, I’ve been in recovery/rest mode and adjusting to the heat of the summer.  And eating Hello Fresh.  But I have some news!

Nope, I’m not pregnant!  (Is that what you thought I was going to say?  That seems to be a popular guess.)

We are moving to COLORADO!

Woohoo!  This has been a long time coming since I first started traveling out to Colorado nearly a year ago.  I really loved it out there — the scenery, the job, the running, the people.  I was so, so happy to be offered a permanent job there, and even more happy that my generous husband agreed to pick up our lives and head west.   At some point I might write more about where I’ve been emotionally over the past year or two, but for now, I’ll just say that I am very excited about this change for both my professional and personal development.

Stay tuned for my recap and review of the Mt. Hood 50k, my second ultra, happening in just 10 days!

Have you ever made a big move?  What races and things must I do once I live out west?  Anyone out there run the Mt. Hood 50k in the past?  I know very little about this race — just sort of going for it!
